PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM DRAW | ONTARIO IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM ISSUES 699 INVITATIONS TO EXPRES

On June 3rd, the province of Ontario held a draw in which it issued a total of 699 invitations to candidates with Express Entry profiles under its Human Capitals stream. In order to receive an invitation, candidates must also have work experience in one of nine selected occupations. The CRS cut-off score for this draw was 358.

Ontario’s latest draw targeted individuals with CRS scores of 358 or higher and work experience in one of the following nine occupations:

  • Financial managers (NOC 0111)

  • Other administrative services managers (0114)

  • Advertising, marketing and public relations managers (0124)

  • Financial auditors and accountants (NOC 1111)

  • Other financial officers (NOC 1114)

  • Professional occupations in business management consulting (NOC 1122)

  • Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses (NOC 3012)

  • Other primary health practitioners (NOC 3124)

  • Dieticians and nutritionists (NOC 3132)

The majority of the invitations were issued to candidates who obtained their work experience outside of Canada. Those with international work experience needed a CRS score between 471 and 500 in order to receive an invitation from Ontario.

167 of the invitations were issued to candidates with at least one year of Canadian work experience and a CRS score between 358 and 439.

In 2020, Ontario will have 7,350 invitations to issue through OINP with an additional 250 places for temporary foreign workers whose national occupation classification (NOC) falls under skill level C.

Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream

Candidates who received an invitation in this draw are now eligible to apply for residence through Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream. In order to qualify, candidates must meet the requirements for either the Federal Skilled Worker Program or Canadian Experience Class.

The education requirement under HCP is a Canadian bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree or its equivalent in another country. Candidates must also be able to understand, read, write and speak either English or French at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher.

Interested applicants must also demonstrate that they have enough funds to support themselves as well as any dependent family members while settling in Canada, as well as their intention to make Ontario their long-term home.

A nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) virtually guarantees that a candidate will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in an upcoming federal Express Entry draw.
